Product details
Plus size tires are great and with the XM 521 they find their ideally matched counterpart. It offers all the support needed by the most aggressive of riders, yet it keeps the weight really low. This is important since big tires tempt you to goof around on the trails and any rider would rather spend their energy jumping off obstacles than wasting it dragging along extra weight. Caution when choosing brake pads for wheels with rim brakes!
- Only "SwissStop Black Prince" brake pads may be used on carbon rims.
- Only "SwissStop BXP Blue" brake pads may be used on OXIC rims.
The use of incorrect brake pads can cause the rim to fail. DT Swiss takes no responsibility in this case. Please also note that brake pads which were previously used on aluminum rims must not be used on carbon rims. The aluminum abrasion in the brake pad can destroy the carbon. For further information about your wheel, please refer to the user manual.

As wider rims have developed, so have wider tires. However, the different tire and rim widths are not universally compatible. Essentially: The wider the rim, the wider the tires that can be fitted.
